Sermon Title: Gather Around
Sermon Basis: Mathew 2:9-11 / Luke 2:1-38
Summary: The Christmas season is a time when, culturally speaking, it is relatively permissible for Christ to be at the center of things. However, it begs the question, “Who is it, what is it, around which we gather?” What are we expecting to find? Who is this “baby?” The first ones to gather around him saw different things—perhaps the same things that people today see: a son, a savior, a seditionist, as sovereign. He is definitely more than a season.
