Sermon: Part 6: Sin is Serious.

Summary: By God's grace, Israel was able to do amazing things.  After the defeat of Jericho, however, Israel suffers a stunning defeat at Ai.  Their confidence before God had melted and God's presence seemed to forsake them.  Grace is always accessed by faith, and it is soon discovered that Israel had broken faith with God.  From this event, we learn that sin is serious and contagious and must be confronted among God's people.  God, the Redeemer, can turn the valley of trouble into a door of hope but we must realize that belief (trust) is the key to God's abounding love and grace.
