Sermon Title: Part 1: The Church Does Not Exist

Summary:  The theme for our congregation in 2015 is I Am the Church.  Corresponding to this theme, we begin a 5-part series on the same topic.  Jesus introduces the concept of the church in Matthew 16:13-20.  In Jesus' interaction with his disciples at Caesarea Philippi, we discover that the church does not exist without you, without Christ, and without the world.  The church is a community that confesses Jesus' true identity being called to enter the world on a mission of opening the kingdom of God.
